How to Buy 510 Vape Cartridges

Are you buying vape cartridges for the first time? If so, you need to confirm that you’re getting the right cartridge for your needs and that it’ll work with your device. Here’s what you need to know.

Choose an Empty or Pre-Filled Cartridge

We offer both empty vape cartridges and pre-filled weed carts at Rokin. You should buy an empty cart if you want to use your own vape oil. Pre-filled carts, on the other hand, are already filled with oil and are ready to use as soon as you receive them.

Confirm the Cartridge Works with Your Vape

Most 510 cartridges are designed for maximum compatibility and will work with almost all vape batteries, but you still want to confirm compatibility before buying.

  • The cartridge needs to physically fit in your device. Some vape batteries with concealed designs or hidden threading only work with smaller 510 carts.
  • The cartridge needs to be compatible with your device’s firing style. If your vape battery only has inhale-activated firing, it requires a 510 cart with bottom airflow.

You’ll find a compatibility guide for all Rokin vape batteries below.

Choose Your Vape Oil

If you’re buying an empty vape cartridge, you can fill it with whatever oil you prefer. If you’re buying a pre-filled cart, though, you’ll need to ensure that you’re getting the oil you want. Pre-filled 510 cartridges differ in their extract types, terpene blends and cannabinoids. Choose according to your budget and preferences for flavor and effects.

Benefits of 510 Cartridges

Why use a 510-thread battery and a vape cartridge instead of a dab pen or dry herb vape? Vape carts are extremely popular among herbal aficionados, and that’s because they have some key benefits that other forms of vaping can’t match.

Portable

If you’re looking for a vaping setup that’s as portable as possible, there’s nothing smaller than a 510-thread battery and vape cartridge. Some vape batteries are so small that you can conceal them completely in your hand. Many are thin enough that they’ll barely create an outline in your pocket. Dry herb vapes are typically much larger, and using a dab pen generally requires you to carry your wax in a separate container.

Economical

Vape cartridges are extremely economical. Vape oil is a concentrated extract that’s much more potent than traditional dry herbs, and even a lower-capacity 510 cart can last through many vaping sessions. Whether you buy pre-filled cartridges or fill your own empty carts, oil-based concentrates give you a lot for your money.

Discreet

Vape cartridges are much more discreet compared to traditional flower. A cartridge produces very little smell and is unlikely to bother the people around you. Vape carts also take up little space and are easy to store. Dry herbs, on the other hand, consume more space and require a storage solution that manages the smell and humidity level.

510 Vape Cartridges: FAQ

What’s the difference between a vape cartridge and an atomizer?

The term “atomizer” refers to the heating element in a vape cartridge. Atomizers are also sometimes referred to as atomizer coils because most of them are coil shaped.

Should I buy empty or pre-filled 510 cartridges?

Empty and pre-filled 510 cartridges serve different use cases. Here’s how to choose.

  • An empty vape cartridge gives you flexibility since you can fill it with any oil you like. Empty vape carts may also have lower long-term costs since you can make your own vape oil or buy it in bulk. Filling your own vape cartridges is less convenient, though, than buying cartridges that are already filled.
  • A pre-filled vape cartridge is convenient since it’s ready to use as soon as you remove it from the package. There’s a higher up-front cost, though, since you’re buying both the cartridge and the oil. Pre-filled cartridges also cost more over the long term since you’re buying your vape oil in smaller quantities.

How do you fill a 510 cartridge?

To fill a 510 cartridge, use a blunt-tip syringe to inject the oil into the cartridge’s main reservoir. Push or screw the mouthpiece over the top of the cartridge to close it. Wait about 30 minutes before vaping to ensure that the oil has completely absorbed into the ceramic wick.

Can you refill a 510 cartridge?

You can refill a 510 cartridge if it has a screw-on mouthpiece. Vape carts with push-fit mouthpieces are meant to be discarded when they’re empty. If you have a cartridge with a screw-on mouthpiece, you can refill it as many times as you like until you’re no longer happy with the flavor.

Can you clean a 510 cartridge?

If a vape cartridge leaks, you can remove oil from the threading using a cotton swab lightly moistened with isopropyl alcohol. Make sure that the cartridge is completely dry before using it again.
