How to Buy Empty Vape Cartridges

If you’re new to filling your own cartridges, it’s important to ensure that you’re getting the right cart for your needs before you buy. Here’s what you need to know.

  • Choose what type of cartridge you want. Our Titan 2, Titan 3 and Easy Fill cartridges are intended for use with oil-based concentrates, which are liquid at room temperature and can be dispensed with a blunt-tip syringe. Our Wax Tank is designed for waxy concentrates.
  • Choose between a single-use cartridge and a refillable cartridge. Our Titan 2 and Titan 3 cartridges have tamper-proof mouthpieces and are intended to be used until they’re empty. The Easy-Fill cartridge, on the other hand, can be refilled several times.
  • Choose which capacity you want. Our empty vape cartridges are available in half-gram (0.5 ml) and one-gram (1.0 ml) capacities. A larger cartridge holds more oil, but smaller cartridges are more discreet and may be required for certain vape batteries.
  • Confirm that the cartridge will work with your vape battery.
    • Some vape batteries with recessed threading or concealed designs only work with cartridges in specific width or capacity ranges.
    • Our Titan vape cartridges have their air intake vents on the bottom and will work with a battery that has inhale- or button-based activation. Our Easy Fill cartridge has top airflow and requires a battery with a manual fire button.

Benefits of Empty Vape Carts

When you shop for vape carts, you can buy empty cartridges or pre-filled weed cartridges, which are filled with oil and ready to use immediately. Pre-filled cartridges offer convenience, but there are several benefits to buying empty carts instead.

Empty Carts Let You Choose Your Own Vape Oil

Although there’s a wide variety of pre-filled carts on the market today, one drawback of using pre-filled products is that you’re limited to the oil types and terpene blends that the manufacturers have chosen for you. You can’t choose your own oil and can’t refill the cartridge once it’s empty.

Empty vape carts, on the other hand, give you much more freedom because you can use your own oil from any source and can choose something that fits your exact use case.

Empty Carts Cost Less Over Time

You’ve probably noticed that pre-filled weed cartridges cost substantially more than empty carts. That’s because most of the cost is in the vape oil and not in the hardware. Empty cartridges are less expensive, and vape oil is more affordable if you purchase it in bulk rather than buying individual pre-filled cartridges. Filling your own vape cartridges can help you save a lot of money in the long run.

Empty Vape Cartridges: FAQ

How do you fill an empty vape cartridge?

  •  Titan 2 or Titan 3 Cartridge: Insert a blunt-tip syringe between the cartridge’s central air chimney and outer wall. Squeeze the syringe until the cartridge is nearly full, leaving a bit of room for the mouthpiece. Place the mouthpiece over the cartridge and push until it snaps into place.
  • Easy Fill Cartridge: Insert a blunt-tip syringe and squeeze it until the oil reaches the fill line on the side of the glass. Place the mouthpiece assembly inside the cartridge, line up the threading and twist to close the cartridge.

When you fill a new cartridge, you need to allow plenty of time for the thick oil to absorb into the ceramic wick. Wait about a half hour before you start vaping.

How do you use an empty vape cartridge?

After filling the cartridge and waiting for the oil to absorb into the wick, connect the cartridge to your vape battery.

  • If you have a puff-activated battery, inhale gently through the cartridge to vape.
  • If you have a button-activated battery, inhale gently while holding the battery’s fire button.

Regardless of what type of vape battery you’re using, you should always use light air pressure to prevent a clogged cartridge. If your cartridge makes a gurgling sound, you’re puffing harder than necessary. Learn more about how to hit a vape properly.

How many times can you refill a vape cartridge?

  • The Titan 2 and Titan 3 cartridges have snap-fit mouthpieces and are designed to be discarded when they’re empty.
  • The Easy-Fill cartridge has a twist-on mouthpiece and can be refilled several times. You can continue refilling the cartridge until you’re no longer happy with the flavor.

How long do vape cartridges last?

  • A 1-gram cartridge typically lasts up to 300 puffs before running out of oil.
  • A half-gram cartridge typically lasts up to 150 puffs.

What is the Rokin Wax Tank?

The Rokin Wax Tank is designed for waxy concentrates, which are solid at room temperature. The Titan and Easy Fill cartridges, on the other hand, are designed for oily concentrates only. The Wax Tank allows you to convert almost any 510-thread battery into a dab pen on demand, eliminating the need to buy a separate device for dabbing.
